Alena grew up in the Ukraine where kids spent most of their free time outside climbing trees, riding bikes, swimming in rivers, and playing with snow. Alena is raising her own three kids (actually one adult and two teenagers) exploring PNW parks and lakes, gardening, camping and exploring all the beauty of the outdoors.
Alena has both BS and MS degrees in Chemistry. She has worked in research labs in the Seattle area, and is now a consultant in data analytics. With her lifelong love of learning and lots of volunteer work at schools, Alena has a broad experience working with kids of different age groups teaching math, science, and working with kids in the school garden.
Alena is excited to join Field & Forest and share her love of nature and exploration with younger kids.
